Description
The Bardolino wine tasting tour takes you to the Guerrieri Rizzardi estate, at the centre of the historic Bardolino vineyards. It runs for about two hours and suits anyone curious about the character of this area's wines.
You start with a walk among the vineyards, hearing which grapes grow here and what shaped each bottle. Then a guided visit of the cellar follows the winemaking from grape to glass, and explains how the Chiaretto, the Bardolino and the Montebaldo subzone wines differ. The estate's own staff lead the visit and talk about its past and its newer ideas.
At the tasting table you try four wines, each served with traditional grissini or taralli:
- Fior di Rosa, a sparkling Chiaretto
- Keya, a still Chiaretto
- Cuvée XVII, a Bardolino Classico
- Delara, from the Montebaldo subzone
If you want more, a plate of salumi and cheeses can be added, booked in advance. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the vineyard walk. Language options are English, German and Italian, each on set days, and the experience is not suitable for children under 18 or for pregnant women. Transport is not included.
