Description
The Valpolicella wine tour from Verona takes you out of the city for half a day, into the hills where Amarone is made. A private air-conditioned bus takes you there and brings you back, and a licensed tour leader speaking English and Spanish goes with the group.
You visit two family-run wineries. At each you stroll through the vineyards, go down into the cellars and learn how the area's best-known wines are made. The tastings add up to six wines: Amarone, Valpolicella Classico and Valpolicella Ripasso, each served with local salumi and cheeses that bring out the flavours.
- Two wineries, six wines
- Food pairings with salumi and cheeses
- Round-trip transfer from Verona
Between the wineries the bus crosses rolling hills and vineyards. The tour works both for wine lovers and for people who are simply curious about Italian wine, and nobody needs to drive after the tastings. It lasts about four and a half hours.
