Description
On this private walking tour of Verona the route is yours to adjust, and it suits families, couples and solo travellers. It lasts about two hours and mixes the famous sights with quieter corners, with a local guide who knows the stories behind them.
It starts in Piazza Bra, beside the Roman Arena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there you pass an archaeological site and follow stretches of the medieval walls, going by Porta Jovia with views over the Adige.
The centre of the old city comes next:
- Piazza delle Erbe, the lively square
- Piazza dei Signori
- the Basilica di Santa Anastasia
- Romeo's House and Juliet's Balcony
- the Arche Scaligere tombs
Comfortable shoes are the one thing to bring, and the guide can shape the route around what you most want to see, since the whole route is on foot. Admission tickets, food, drinks and transport to the starting point are not included. The tour runs in English or Italian.
