Description
If you want an Amarone tasting in Verona that fits into a day of sightseeing, this one-hour session in one of the city's most historic wine bars does the job. Professional sommeliers who know the region well guide you through Amarone della Valpolicella, the flagship red of the area's winemaking.
The idea is a vertical tasting: three Amarone, each chosen to show how time, ageing and technique shape the character of the wine. Along the way you hear how it is made, from the drying of the grapes to the barrel. A board of artisanal cheeses and local soppressa sits beside the glasses, picked to suit the structure of each wine.
- Three glasses of Amarone with different ageing
- Cheeses and soppressa to pair with them
- A sommelier to guide the tasting
Start times are spread across the day, so you can take it as an aperitivo before dinner or as a midday break. The experience runs rain or shine. Let the organisers know about food allergies or dietary needs, and note that it is not suitable for pregnant women or children under 18.
