Description
On a Valpolicella e-bike tour with wine tasting, the electric motor handles the climbs and you handle the view. An accredited local guide leads you along back roads and tracks between the vines of the Classica area, with assistance on hand all the way.
The route starts at the thousand-year-old Romanesque Pieve di San Floriano, then climbs to Santa Maria in Valverde, a church that looks out over the whole valley. Another stop is the Temple of Minerva, a relic from Roman times. Between stops the guide tells you how this renowned wine region works, and the itinerary can be shaped around your level and your interests.
The ride ends at a traditional winery, where a guided tasting pours three wines that sum up the area, a Ripasso, a Superiore and the full-bodied Amarone, with a platter of charcuterie and cheese. The whole outing lasts about four hours.
