Description
This Valpolicella wine tour with a local guide is built around one person's knowledge of her home region. Anna was born and raised in Valpolicella and speaks fluent English, which helps in an area where small family wineries rarely do.
The experience has two parts. First comes the drive: Anna collects you at your accommodation or a meeting point you agree on, up to 20 km from central Verona, and takes you across the five historic municipalities of Valpolicella Classica, with villages, vineyards and viewpoints you would struggle to find alone.
Then you arrive at a small, family-run winery she has chosen for your group, not a famous name. Someone from the family, frequently the one who makes the wine, shows you the vines and the cellar and tells the story of the land. A guided tasting of four to six wines follows.
- transport to and from your accommodation or meeting point
- a local guide speaking English and Italian
- the winery visit and the tasting
- an introduction to the wine culture of Valpolicella
The group is small, with a maximum of eight people, and the whole tour lasts about three to three and a half hours. Food and drinks beyond the tasting and tips are not included. Send your pickup address when you book. The tour is not suitable for pregnant women or children under 18.
