Description

A Verona e-bike tour with a local guide: the electric boost carries you from the Roman gates and Juliet's balcony up to the Castel San Pietro viewpoint, then back along the Adige in about three hours.

On a Verona e-bike tour the motor does the climbing and you keep the energy for the sights. The ride starts at the Arco dei Gavi, a gate dating to Roman times, and your guide leads the group through the historic centre on two wheels, by Porta Borsari and Piazza delle Erbe to the balcony of Juliet.

Then comes the part that makes the outing different: the climb into the Torricelle hills up to Castel San Pietro. The city lies below you, roofs and bell towers with the river curving through, and you get roughly half an hour of your own to photograph the view, catch your breath or buy a cold drink at the snack bar.

Back down, the route follows the river lanes near Ponte Pietra, Verona's oldest crossing, and goes through the tree-shaded cobbles of Sottoriva. gothic churches such as San Fermo come into view, then Piazza Bra with the Arena, and the guide tells tales of its past. The ride ends in the calmer quarter of San Zeno, with its cafes and basilica.

  • Guided ride of about three hours
  • E-bike and helmet included
  • Rain or shine

Expect an easy to intermediate ride; since you share the road with traffic, you should be a confident cyclist. It is not open to children under 14, and a minimum of two riders applies.
