Description
The underground Verona tour rests on a simple idea: to understand the Roman city, you have to go below the streets of today. For about 90 minutes you follow the archaeologists who carried out the excavations, and they let you see the ancient structures from close up and make sense of what each one was.
The first site is the archaeological area of Corte Sgarzerie, where you find what is left of Roman Verona's grandest public temple, a monumental one. From there the tour continues on foot, outdoors, to the area of Via San Cosimo.

Entry to both areas and the guided visit are included, and the tour runs in English, Spanish or Italian. It is an archaeological experience more than a standard city walk, so it suits anyone curious about how Verona began. Wheelchair users cannot take part.
