Description
The Verona hop-on hop-off bus is an open-top red bus with two routes around the historic centre and recorded commentary in several languages playing as you ride. Your ticket lasts 24 or 48 hours, and in that time you can step off at any stop and board the next bus whenever you are ready.
Both lines start from Piazza Bra, the square of the Arena. The red route takes in the railway station, the Basilica di San Zeno and Castelvecchio, Via Diaz with its shops, Porta Borsari and the Roman theatre. The blue route heads for Castel San Pietro, passes Juliet's Tomb, the Duomo and Piazza delle Erbe, then reaches Juliet's House.
- Views of the medieval walls from the open top
- The quarter of San Zeno and its famous church
- The Arena and the ancient Roman theatre
Verona mixes a long history, as one of the powerful cities of the early Roman Empire, with a modern industrial base, and its old centre is among the best preserved in Italy. The bus gives you the lay of the land on the first lap, and then you choose where to linger. Tickets to the attractions are not included, and each route runs hourly.
