Wine Tasting in a Historic Cellar in Verona near the Arena

This wine tasting in a historic cellar in Verona takes place right by the Arena, down in the cellar of an 18th-century palace. The setting is elegant, and it frames six glasses of organic wine from the Massimago winery.

Every glass is matched with food from the area:

• a board of cured meats and cheeses from the area
• mostarda and honey, both artisanal
• focaccia of heirloom grains with a thread of extra virgin olive oil

The tasting begins with a welcome at the front of the Massimago Wine Suites hotel (Stradone San Fermo 24), and lasts about an hour and a half. You get to taste slowly, comparing one wine with the next. If a bottle wins you over, wine and other products can be bought on site.

It suits anyone who would rather sit down with good wine and a proper platter than hurry between sights, in a historic palace in the heart of the city.
