Description
This Valpolicella wine tour from Verona is a half-day trip into one of Italy's best-known wine regions, with a morning or an afternoon departure to suit your plans. A private bus leaves from Verona, and a local tour leader doubles as driver, so the short drive through rolling hills and vineyards needs no effort from you.
At the first winery a local guide walks you through the vines and the historic ageing cellars, explaining the traditional methods behind the area's wines. A guided tasting follows, with Valpolicella, Ripasso and the celebrated Amarone, and a chance to learn how their flavours differ.
A short transfer then brings you to a second, hand-picked boutique winery, chosen for its heritage and its way of making wine. Here you see the production and ageing areas, then taste another selection of wines and compare aromas and techniques to see how terroir and style change from one producer to the next.
- Private bus from Verona and back
- Visits to two Valpolicella wineries, with two tastings
- Explanations of viticulture and winemaking
There is time to shop at the wineries if you wish, and the bus brings you back to the centre of Verona. Bottles and personal expenses are not included.
