Description
The Soave and Amarone wine tour from Verona fits two of the province's wine areas into a half day of about four and a half hours. Transport is a nine-seat minivan, so there is no need to drive between the two areas, and the tour leader is also a sommelier.
First comes the Soave wine route in eastern Verona province, with its history and old-world charm. At the winery you sample whites including Soave DOC, then Soave Superiore DOCG, then Recioto di Soave DOCG.
The second stop is a Valpolicella winery that makes the area's typical reds. Its tasting runs through the full DOC and DOCG range, each in a different style:
- Valpolicella
- Ripasso
- Amarone
- Recioto
The format is simple: one tasting of whites, one of reds, a leader who explains both. It suits anyone who wants to compare the white and red sides of Veronese wine in one outing, without driving. Hotel pickup is not included.
