Description

This Valpolicella wine tasting at Corte Borghetti takes you through family vineyards and a 17th-century cellar, with five wines and local cold cuts, cheeses and olive oil.

A Valpolicella wine tasting at Corte Borghetti begins outside, on a stroll through the old vineyards, with a Borghetti family member as your guide. The property occupies a 17th-century villa and the visit shows how the family makes its wines.

Inside, the cellar visit pays special attention to the rooms where the grapes are left to dry, a step that shapes some of the area's best-known labels. The tour lasts about two hours and is run in English or Italian.

The tasting is held in the old barrel cellar and covers five wines, all DOC or DOCG:

  • a Garganega sparkling white
  • a Valpolicella Classico
  • a Classico Superiore
  • a Classico Superiore Ripasso
  • the Amarone

Food arrives alongside: Lessinia cold cuts and cheeses, with lime and orange mostardas made by hand, then the estate's own extra virgin olive oil spread on warm bread. The final pour is the Amarone, with dark chocolate. Children under 18 are not admitted.
