Description
This Dolomites day trip from Verona swaps city streets for mountain lakes. Expect a long day of about twelve hours, travelling privately with a multilingual host who is not a certified guide; the vehicle is a car for one to three people and a minivan for four to six.
The first stop is Dobbiaco, for a calm morning coffee in the mountain air. Then comes Lago di Braies, nicknamed the Pearl of the Dolomites, a turquoise lake: you can stroll the wooden pier, breathe in the quiet of the forest, or rent a boat if you like (not included), while the host helps with photos. After that, a brief photo stop at Lago di Landro, whose water is a pale minty blue.
The day ends in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where you are free to wander the alpine streets, browse the shops or just take in the scenery.
