Description
This wine tasting in Verona's historic center sits close to Piazza Erbe, the Lamberti Tower and the Well of Love. It takes place in a wine bar that opened in the later part of the last century and has long been a landmark for the city's wine lovers. The room is intimate and welcoming.
Do not expect a sommelier course. Under the Step by Story method, each glass comes with a tale of the area, its people and how town, countryside and vineyards connect. No knowledge of wine is needed, and the group is small.
The route moves through the wines of the Verona area:
- Prosecco, as a welcome
- Soave, a symbol of the local white wines
- Valpolicella Classico
- Valpolicella Ripasso
Local cheeses and cured meats on a platter go with them. Routes on Amarone and Recioto are optional, and a private session can be requested for groups and families. Tell the organisers about allergies when booking. The tasting lasts about an hour and is for adults, with soft drinks for minors; the wines may change with availability.
