Description

This Verona aperitivo food tour is a three-hour walk through the old town with an English-speaking guide, stopping at four or more bacari for Spritz, Prosecco, local wine, cicchetti and gelato.

A Verona aperitivo food tour is a guided round of the city's bars, tasting something different at each one. The walk takes about three hours, with four or more stops in typical bacari, and an English-speaking local guide leads a small group and tells you about the food culture of the city.

The tasting follows the order of an aperitivo.

  • a Spritz, the Venetian aperitif, with light bites
  • Prosecco, then a regional wine such as Bardolino or Soave
  • cicchetti, small savoury bites that can include cured meats, cheeses and seafood
  • artisanal gelato to finish

Drinks, including water, are covered at the stops, and what you taste depends on the season and on what each place has that day. Between stops you walk through the lively streets and neighbourhoods of the old town, 10 to 15 minutes at a stretch.

Because of the walking, it is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. Tell the organisers about allergies or dietary needs when you book. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, and neither is any extra food or drink.
